CONSULAR SERVICES



1. Office Hours: 9 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m.
2. Visa/attestation submission timings: From 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Monday to Friday.
3. Visa requirements are mentioned in the file VISA INFORMATION.
4. All visitors to Ethiopia requires visa.
5. Validity of the visa starts from the date of issue and ends on the date of expiry mentioned on the visa sticker. Validity/ stay period does not commence from the date of entry into Ethiopia.
6. Consular service fee has been revised w.e.f. 11 September 2020. Fee structure is attached. For visa Indian nationals shall pay the fee in Indian rupees by bank draft favouring EMBASSY OF ETHIOPIA or deposit cash in the Embassy's RBL Bank account at Vasant Vihar, New Delhi and produce the original deposit receipt with the application. Other foreigners shall pay in U.S dollars in cash. Only Diplomatic & Service/Official passports are issued GRATIS visa (without any fee) subject to submitting Visa Note Verbal from their respective diplomatic mission. Ethiopian nationals can also deposit the fees for attestation in Indian rupees by bank draft favouring EMBASSY OF ETHIOPIA or deposit cash in the Embassy's RBL Bank account.

FOR ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS:

1. All documents should first of all be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs, (MEA) Government of India, Patiala House, New Delhi for Indian documents and from respective Ministry of Foreign Affair of the country from which document originates. Thereafter, it should be presented to the Embassy.
2. Commercial documents are usually attested by the MEA subject to pre-attestation by an authorized Indian Chamber of Commerce.
3. Educational certificate e.g. degree, diploma, is usually attested by the MEA subject to pre-attestation by the Education Cell of the Ministry of the HRD of the Govt. of India of the respective States of India. A copy of Passport is also required.
4. The Embassy requires one photostat copy (both front and back-showing MEA attestation) alongwith the original documents to be attested..
5. One covering letter from the company/individual requesting for attestation.
6. Fee is payable by bank draft favouring EMBASSY OF ETHIOPIA payable at New Delhi for Indian and Ethiopian nationals. For other foreigners in cash dollars.


PASSPORT SERVICE
Passport Renewal/Issuance for Ethiopian Nationals

1. Prescribed passport application form is to be filled in one copy
2. Three latest passport size photographs ( 3 cm x 4 cm) coloured with white background, clearly showing the front portion (head and face should be uncovered).
3. Copy of valid residence permit of current residence.
4. For newly born baby copy of birth certificate in India and passport/visa copy of parents.
5. Passport fee is to be paid in cash U.S dollars 60.
6 Current original passport is also required to be submitted, which will remain with the Embassy and shall be returned, after cancellation, along with new passport.
7. The new passport will be issued approximately within three months.
8. Speed post charges extra-Rs. 100 within India and $ 20 for Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.


REPLACEMENT OF LOST PASSPORT

1. Prescribed passport application form is to be filled in one copy
2. Three latest passport size photographs ( 3 cm x 4 cm) coloured with white background, clearly showing the front portion (head and face should be uncovered).
3. Copy of valid residence permit of current residence.
4. Passport fee is to be paid in cash U.S $ 90.
5. Police Report for lost passport.
6. Copy of lost passport.
7. The new passport will be issued in minimum 3 months.
8. Speed post charges extra-Rs. 100 within India and $ 20 for Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.


Issuance of Laissez Passer

1. Prescribed form to be filled one copy.
2. Two latest passport size photographs ( 3 cm x 4 cm) coloured with white background, clearly showing the front portion (head and face should be uncovered).
3. Copy of existing or lost passport.
4. Copy of valid visa
5. For newly born baby copy of birth certificate in India and passport/visa copy of parents.
6. Prescribed fee in cash dollars
7. Speed post charges extra-Rs. 100 within India and $ 20 for Thailand, SriLanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
